One Book One Bloomington

In the spring of 2008, MCPL hosted a film series, “The Experience of Becoming American,” and a May public talk by Mohja Kahf, author of the 2008 Community Read, The Girl in the Tangerine Scarf, which is based on her experiences growing up as an immigrant in central Indiana.

First Saturday Free The library began a year-long promotion with Bloomington Transit to provide free rides on the first Saturday of each month to everyone showing a Monroe County Public Library card.
