How do we rede fine literacy in a world of blogging, texting, gaming, and YouTube? Using the PBS documentary, 'Digital Media: New Learners of the 21st Century', we will look at what’s happening across the country and talk about what’s happening locally. Discussion led by New Tech Principal, Alan Veach, principal of Bloomington New Tech High School.

Mike Mattos, renowned expert on Professional Learning Communities will speak and answer questions about the significance of implementing PLC’s in Monroe County Schools.

SATURDAY, APRIL 30, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Bloomington Reads Aloud at the Farmers’ Market Showers Plaza 1A between B-line Trail & the Market
Readers of all ages and abilities are invited to the Farmers’ Market to help Bloomington read James and the Giant Peach aloud on stage and on camera. Each individual will read one page as we complete the entire book in 4 hours. Free books to the first 300 students who visit the Bloomington Reads table. Sign up for a free library card.
