Celebrating Seuss with Stories and Song
Friday, March 2 is Dr. Seuss' Birthday! Visit the Main Library Children's Dept. Friday afternoon between 4 and 5:30 pm and make a joyful noise using the Dr. Seuss Band app for iPad. We'll have one of our iPads out at the "Ask Questions Here" desk for you to try. You can create your own crazy musical instrument and compose your own song. (If you have your own iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, you can download this app for free, for a limited time. See the iTunes Preview page for details.)
On Saturday, March 3, we have a full afternoon of fun events scheduled as part of our Seusspicious Behavior celebration. Drop-in to the Auditorium for a short (20-minute) performance of The Lorax. The first show is at 1:15 and repeats at 2:00, 2:45 and 3:30 pm. We'll also have Seussical games to play and other hands-on activities. When you're ready for some online fun, visit the Seussville website where you can find games, videos and all things Seussian. Hip, hip hooray! We salute you, Dr. Seuss, and your pioneering work creating beginner reader books for children, and we celebrate you - not just on your birthday - but every day!
