(VIPS) is to offer appropriate services to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who are visually impaired or blind and to their families; to maximize each child's developmental potential through direct services, advocacy, and community education.

The MCPHC provides the infrastructure for the clinical division of the Monroe County Health Department. This infrastructure provides systems for identifying health risks in the community, prevention and controlling communicable disease outbreaks, educating the public and health professionals about health risks and prevention practices, and ensuring access to needed health services.
Area 10 Agency on Aging administers 2-1-1 Infolink, in partnership with the United Way of Monroe County and Smithville Telephone. This local 2-1-1 call center maintains a comprehensive database of community resources serving Monroe and Owen counties.

In cooperation with others in the community, Volunteers in Medicine plans to provide the following services without cost to the medically underserved in Monroe and Owen Counties: easily accessible, quality primary and preventive health care; treatment for both acute and chronic conditions; and health education that empowers individuals to take responsibility for their own well being.

Since 1917, the Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided disaster relief, services to Armed Forces, emergency preparedness and lifesaving programs to Bloomington and the surrounding communities. Today we serve residents in both Monroe and neighboring Owen County 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
