Description Campus Recreational Sports(RS) celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2005. The origins of the Division can be traced back to 1918, when the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) formed an intramural program as part of the men's and women's physical education program. Between 1972 and 1973, the school of HPER took preliminary steps to establish a comprehensive recreational sports program. This included a long-range plan to increase student involvement, establishing a university committee on campus recreational needs, and forming the Student Recreational Sports Association to represent the student body and guide the division's efforts.
