Description The Native American Community Center of Bloomington, Inc., seeks to improve the status and cultural survival of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Americans in Bloomington and throughout Indiana through a variety of services and programs. These services and programs will emphasize 1) fostering a community of people of all ethnicities who support American Indian individuals, communities, and nations, 2) educating the non-American Indian mainstream about American Indian cultures, and 3) advocating for American Indians with other agencies.

Description

The Lakota Language Consortium (LLC, The Consortium) is one of the foremost Native American language organizations in the country. A nonprofit organization made up of Native community leaders, linguists and volunteers, its primary mission is the complete revitalization of the Lakota language, one of only a small handful of Native American languages left that has a significant chance of survival.
