Liverwort, bloodroot, ladys-thumb, bishops-cap have you ever stopped to wonder about the origins of the expressive names that many wildflowers bear? Led by Jill Vance, Monroe Lake Interpretive Naturalist, well explore the history, folklore, and stories behind the names of many Indiana wildflowers, with a focus on spring and early summer bloomers. The program will include tips on how to recognize the featured species, and highlight upcoming wildflowers hikes that are led by area naturalists.
Volunteers will help LOW INCOME and ELDERLY residents fill out and file their state and federal income taxes. Volunteers will also assist residents who are eligible to receive tax refunds from the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). IRS Trained volunteers will offer assistance to low income families / individuals and the elderly during February, March, and early April.
