Jo-Jo and the Fiendish Lot

It's about a teenage boy who's nothing special, and is about to go commit suicide. He finds a dead girl in a stream who is very strange, but she's not dead for long. He gets stuck helping her out. Early in the book he finds out that death is painfully over-rated.
