Preschool Programs

TINY-TO-TWO PROGRAMS

Infants and toddlers and their caregivers are invited to this program of songs, rhymes, fingerplays, books and activities. Choose one of two sessions.

Please register in advance.
Click on your preferred time to register.

Birth through age 2 1/2.
Third Friday of the Month at 10:15 OR 11:15.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIMES
This program allows preschoolers and kindergarten children to enjoy storytelling, puppets and music in a social setting.

Please register in advance.

Evening Story Time and Crafts - Ellettsville
This is a chance for the whole family to enjoy stories, a movie and a craft. The stories and movie and craft will appeal to a wide range of ages, so bring the whole family. Craft supplies provided by the Friends of the Library.

Jean Herrberg, Assistant Director, of the Exotic Feline Rescue Center will present an interactive program describing the lives of the large cats of the world, and what the rescue center is doing to save them right here in Indiana.

X-Treme Team: Paper Aeronautics - Ellettsville
What is the Bournelli effect? How far can you make a paper airplane fly? What would happen if you threw a paper airplane off a third story balcony in the public library? We’ll learn some new paper airplane designs and tinker with some old favorites. Please register.

The Monroe County Humane Association's VIPaws program (A Delta Society Pet Partners affiliate) will bring dogs to the library. The dogs are certified therapy dogs and are ready to hear your child read to them. Reading aloud to these sweet dogs encourages reading and has been proven to increase reading scores.

This six-part class will introduce computer users to Microsoft Word 2007, the world's most popular word processing software. Attendees will build competencies from the ground up as we explore the very basics of Word and then progress to discuss some of the more advanced features of the software. Attendees should be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard.
