Technology Question & Answer - Ellettsville

These one hour sessions are designed for you to ask any technology related questions you wish. You may ask questions regarding e-reading devices, library databases, specific software such as Microsoft Word or Excel, or anything else of interest to you. Two library staff members will be on hand to assist you with your technical questions.

Computer Basics - Ellettsville

This class is intended for patrons that have no prior (or minimal) experience using a computer. In this class, patrons will learn how to login to a computer at the library, how to use a mouse, how to change desktop backgrounds and screensavers, and much more. There will also be time for patrons to ask specific questions about using a computer.

Email Basics - Ellettsville

What is email? How do I sign up for an email account? Once I have an email account, what kinds of things can I do with it (attachments, address book, folders)? These topics and more will be covered in this brief overview of email intended for patrons that have at least some minimal past computer and Internet experience. We will be setting up email accounts with Gmail in this class. There will also be time for patrons to ask specific questions about email.

Microsoft Excel Basics - Ellettsville

In this class, participants will learn the basics of Microsoft Excel. This is a popular spreadsheet application that allows users to keep track of budgets and finances, create charts, and organize information. Participants registering for this course should have at least basic computer skills, or take the basic computer course at the library.
