Bloomington, IN--Monroe County Public Library is the honorable mention recipient of the American Library Association's (ALA) 2011 Best of Show competition in the Special Programs and Events--Video category. The library submitted its video PSA on the renovation of the Children's Department. It featured the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls reading and skating around the empty floor of the Children's Department. The video was produced by Community Access Television Services (CATS) with the staff of Children's Services, and can be viewed at Rolling with the Changes. The library's winning entry will be on view at the ALA Conference in New Orleans, June 23-28. Last year, the library won Best in Show in its category for the Summer Reading Program video.

Hundreds of libraries from across the U.S. and Canada enter the Public Relations competition, sponsored by ALA's Library Leadership and Management Association.
